Hello everyone, how are you doing?
We at Hayaland were born on August 8, 2024 (Haya Day!), and ever since, we've been buying and selling smartphones and other devices. Day and night, our knowledgeable team and dedicated customer support work hard to build an environment that you can trust when it comes to pre-owned smartphones ✊. We share our thoughts and activities in the hope that reuse becomes a natural, everyday choice for more people!
In this article, we'd like to introduce who we are at Hayaland. We hope a bit of our atmosphere and friendliness comes across to you 🌱. Sit back, relax, and enjoy reading until the end.
Who Works at Hayaland?
If there's one thing that defines our team, it's how multinational we are 🫱🏻🫲🏾. Alongside our CEO Riku Nirasawa and Pakistani co-founder Hasan Siddiqui, we currently have
around 20 members from Japan, Pakistan, India, and the United States on the team.
A Short History
Hayaland roadmap
Here's a little bit of our story.
Hayaland started with the meeting of two university students. Back in 2018, Riku Nirasawa and Hasan Siddiqui, both first-year university students at the time, met during a lecture. They shared hobbies, gradually grew closer, and through their shared interests, eventually began talking business. In 2019, while still students, they founded the company that would become the predecessor of Hayaland 🎊.
In the early days, they lived together in a shared house at our office in Shonan, Kanagawa. With university lectures held remotely during the pandemic, they were able to balance studies and work, and with help from friends, they could fully focus on growing the business. Fun fact: their journey began in a tiny 1R apartment costing ¥20,000/month, and by the end of those days they had upgraded to a 3LDK at ¥70,000/month (lol). There were more accidents and mishaps than we could possibly write down... but today, those are memories we proudly look back on.
After graduating in 2022, they moved the office to Akihabara, Tokyo. Drawing on everything they'd learned in university, they observed market trends and identified challenges and new opportunities in the reuse mobile space. These experiences shaped the vision and goals of Hayaland. Then in August 2024, with the right environment in place to bring that vision to life, the company was officially established as "Hayaland" 👏.
That's the short version of how we got here. And the Hayaland story is only just getting good! Together with the team we introduced above, we're excited to carry this backstory forward and steer toward our goals.
The Story Behind Our Name & Symbol
There's actually a meaningful story behind the name Hayaland.
It comes from combining Hasan's daughter's name, Haya, with the English translation of Riku's name ("Riku" means land), giving us "Haya" + "Land" — and that's how Hayaland was born. As you can probably guess, Hasan absolutely adores his daughter — a proud doting dad 😅.

Our symbol mark also carries three meanings and concepts:
The circulation of reused products and our commitment to recycling
Valuing transparent transactions and trusted relationships
Expanding a global network and building community across diverse regions and cultures
The symbol is designed with visible, circulating arrows, representing the three things Hayaland holds dear: circulation, transparency, and connection. With these values at our core, we want to contribute not only to the reuse business but also to solving challenges around the world.
We're on Social Media!
At Hayaland, we're actively using social media so more people can get to know us. Beyond this blog, we share our office atmosphere, activities, and behind-the-scenes moments on social, hoping to build a deeper connection with all of you.
